SDG #3 focuses on providing access to good health and well-being for all people at all ages around the world. By 2030, it aims to eliminate communicable diseases, reduce non-communicable diseases and other health risks and ensure universal access to safe, effective, high-quality and affordable medicines and vaccines.
The Business for Global Health (B4GH) initiative aims to bring together European private actors that wish to act together to reach this #3 objective by pooling their skills to support concrete collaborative projects on the ground in French-speaking African and South-East Asian countries.
B4GH detailed objectives are as follows:
Promote good practices and innovations in health developed by the private sector
Mobilize innovative financing through companies to co-invest in health, working with the Global Fund and other partners
Contribute to the creation of a digital health ecosystem in targeted countries by pooling private sector assets and expertise to improve the implementation of funded awareness, integrated screening and disease management programs.
Measure the impact of the actions carried out
Dialogue with international organizations involved in global health
The B4GH action plan will be introduced at the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Replenishment Conference, scheduled to take place in Lyon on 9 and 10 October, 2019
